I have wavy hair thats fine...but lots of hair. Its past my shoulders by quite a bit. I own a CHI hair straightener, and use lots of different products to get it straight...but for some reason I cannot get my hair as straight (at the ends mainly) as the hairdresser always can. And she never really uses any products on it...I've tried that too and it doesnt work for me. I section off my hair and straighten as good as I can and it just doesnt work. By purchasing this CHI straightener I thought I would have solved this problem. Can anyone tell me their secrets? What shampoos do you use (and conditioners)...what products do you use? Any techniques that work better? Please tell me. I have tried professional products for shampoos etc, but nothing seems to compare to how they get it at the hair dresser. Please HELP ME! I'm so frustrated! When I blowdry my hair it like clumps together in places cuz its wavy...when its straight it looks stringy...but not when the hairdresser does it...help?

oh, girl. I have the exact same problem. i have been through that phase, i had been totally frustrated with getting my hair straight and sleek, as the damn media has managed to drill into my brain that straight is beautiful and waves are just plain ugly. but you know, i have come to accept the fact that I have wavy, cannot-be-straightened-out hair. you know what i do now? I go to the salon every two weeks and get a hot oil treatment and i apply conditioner on it everday. i also use hair creams once in a while. now my hair's still not straight, but it has become pretty manageable. bouncy, even. i hope that helped! *all smiles*

You should use Dove. I use Dove and my hair is straight. Everybody says my hair is beautiful and smells good.

Get one of those ceramic brushes that has "wires". That's very important...not boar...not nylon....the wire ones. It'll feel harsh, but that sucker will pull out any curl! Section your hair off bit by bit and blow dry it twirling the end of the brush round and a round. Don't forget to pull! That'll do the trick! :)
