I've used the biosilk stuff that you put in to straighten your hair. It works very good for the humidity and I live in Fl so lots of humidity. I would imagine the shampoo works really good too.

The best shampoo for straightening would have to be herbal essences straight out! it comes in a purple bottle. It works really good because it prevents frizzies and it gives your hair extra conditioning, so it donsn't get all course! plus it smells really good! Good Luck!

What you want is a silicone serum. Silicone coats the hair and protects it from the effects of humidity. A shampoo really won't achieve that.

Avoid serums with alcohol or water, like Biosilk, Frizz Ease, Garnier or several others. They dry out the hair or just aren't as effective because they're watered-down.

Try a pure silicone like Simply Stylin' Silk. It has not fillers and works extremely effectively in controlling frizz. Plus it makes hair very soft and shiniy. I recommend it highly.

i use a CHI flat iron. i uses shampoo from the CHI line also along with the CHI Infra Treatment which is supposed to gibe your hair moisture. also, before i blow dry my hair i put in a leave-in conditioner which supposedly protects hair from heat. it also has protein in it which is good for hair. after i blow dry it i then put in another CHI product which is supposed to protect your hair from heat damage %26amp; also make it "silky smooth".

I do to...unless you want to have oily hair, its not going to be 100% smooth. That comes with straightening hair. But you can get close to smooth hair, try smoothing seryums from herbal essence...or something like that. Its in a purple bottle it works really well for me

Well the first thing I would say is just don't wash your hair everyday. It dries your hair out and then you can skip a day of straightening and blow drying--plus your hair looks better the second or third day after straightening. Also I don't blow dry I just air dry and then straighten so that I can avoid some extra heat damage. Get a heat protection serum or spray.

Get your hair trimmed every six weeks to reduce split ends and damage.

I have the exact same hair as you(curly) and i as well straighten my hair. And let me tell you one thing, no matter how many products you use, you're still damaging your hair in the end. Those products do help your hair, but when you use an iron you're not helping those products at all.

Try doing this;

-Your hair grows half an inch every month. Every 3 months go and get your hair trimmed. Get it cut about half an inch so that you can get rid of the split ends.

-At home, you can always take a pair of sharp scissors(not dull, you're just causing more split ends in that case) and cut your split ends.

-If you continue using an iron, don't use it every day. Use it every 3 days. I'm sure that with a Chi, you're hair will stay straight for a full 3 days, or until you wash your hair.

-Try finding alternatives. Go get some products for your curly hair and find ways to style it. Go to a hairsalon and ask what you can do with your hair. You never know, maybe you'll like it.

this is going to sound really gross but it works: once or twice a month if you put mayo all over your hair and massage it throughout your roots and split ends, it will make your hair softer and is supposed to help with split ends too. i have a lot myself and this actually does help. leave it in for 10-20 minutes and then wash your hair twice to get all of it out, then continue with your routine. it does sound disguesting but if you use gloves it helps.

OK now that happens to me when my hair is dry so what i do is get carrot oil. yes carrot oil it repairs split ends and gives it a glow. also i put some grease in my hair which also helps my hair from those horrible split ends .plus i use pantene restoration it works in a week to leave you split end free! well, I just recently bought a professional ceramic straightener by Remmington. It's called Wet 2 Straight. I got it at walgreens on sale for only $26! and its way cool cuz you can straighten your hair even when its wet! Plus, its got auto shutoff! woohoo!... anyway, i got the 2" Wide version. it has side-vents so that the steam can escape from the iron and help reduce hair damage. It's really neat cuz its got 30 heat settings! I've got slightly wavy hair that goes to about my mid-back. Its not thick, but its not thin, either. but, when i straightened my hair, i used heat setting 20, and it only took me about 15 minutes to straighten my entire head! but it was already mostly dry, so it probably would take a little bit longer to do it if it was wet. But i love it! you should try it!

I have a cricket, I've had it for about 2 years and a corner or two is chipped, but it's still great. Works fabulously!

What problems are they having with Chi's? All of my friends that have them have never complained, they seem to work pretty well. Don't they have long warranties as well?

Get the Sedu 1 1/2" Original flat Iron. The plates are wide enough that you can hold it on the tips for an extra second or two and it always gives that really poker straight look all the way to the tips. I have really stubborn hair too and this is the only iron that works.

I love the CHI straightener it made my hair smooth and pretty it is totally worth the investment. My tips are if you want to straighten your your hair everyday, Then use a CHI. If you only straighten your hair once in a while, go for a cheaper investment because it's not worth spending money on something you barely use

Chis are worth the investment. They will last longer than inexpensive brands, won't damage your hair as bad, and will leave your hair smooth for the entire day. I recommend using some of the Chi Silk Infusion on your hair then straigtening it. It's actually deep conditioning your hair at the same time. I'm not sure if I recommend that you purchase it from ebay. You never know..it could be used, refurbished, etc. Good Luck!

I have a straightener that I love, but it seems to only work if I put mousse in in the morning while my hair is wet, and in the evening when it is dry, straighten it. OMG. I have the exact same hair. I know this is weird but i just started wearing it how it normally looks, just brushing the top so it doesn't look ratty, and leaving the bottom 2 curl, it works for me... ma ybe we don't have the same hair, but now i get compliments on mine all the time. Don't kill your hair with a straightener. thats soo bad for you hair. Literally, I take a shower at night, brush my hair out, go 2 bed and its curly the next morning, almost like i curled it. Don't Brush the curls out because then your hair goes POOF. like something exploded. try to wear it natural.

well i do think u should try the chi there not that much like on e bay or criaglist ! but i have the same hair so i just pull mine back but i hate pulling it back ! but it is really exsepcive but it is called the bio noinic japanez hair strating soryy about the spelling it really works! even when u wash ur hair ! its like when u have straight hair for like white people they can wash there hair and it is still stright all u ha ve to do is like blow dry it ! and maybe take the straightner over it a lil but not alot ! ull love it research it i am going to get soon

Hi, first buy Tre'samme Conditioner, it comes in a round pot, take a handful of that and leave in hair after washing for about 5 mins. Rinse out and then towel dry, do NOT rub, try to squeeze the water out of hair, leave a towl around your head to take off excess water.

Now, after you have done that, spray on Elvive Anti Frizz Serum, Spray it on your hand, rub hands together and then apply to hair. Gently comb through with an Afro comb.

Ok, now if you want to straighten your hair, then apply Lee Safford Hair Straightening spray.

All these products can be found on Ebay UK. You will find in about 2 weeks your hair is more manageable, I had the same problem as you.

My hair is extremely similar to yours. I can sometimes straighten it, but it doesn't last long and makes my hair dry.

Sunsilk Anti-Poof and Straightening shampoo/conditioners work extremely well. I also have a friend with orange, poofy, wavy, frizzy hair who swears by the Sunsilk Anti-Poof cream. You could also try wearing your hair in a ponytail when it is wet and letting it dry that way.

If your hair is like mine, the end of the ponytail will curl and the rest will stay straight. Good luck!

Buy Bio Silk it works miracles.Put it in your hair after the shower when your hairs wet either blow dry it or let it air dry then straighten it add alil more after and your good to go .But don't place on roots it mite make you look greasy so start at the bottom.

well i kinda have your hair. mine is curly and frizzy.

and i just wear it curly its much easier all you do is take a shower in the morning or simply wet your hair then use gel to keep your curls and making it not frizzy or poofy. put more gel on the places it poofs up and frizzes the most. thats all i can think of!

I'm thinking u want ur hair straight. This is something u can try wash ur hair and blow dry is using comb attachment. Apply some pamade to the hair before and after blow drying it. This should keep it straight, if not try an relaxer.
