Instead of asking "the general public" you should ask your sweetie/significant other what they like and do that. I personally like long clean healthy hair, regardless of the style. I've never seen a woman with long hair that didn't appeal to me. Even "not so pretty women" look so much better with long hair. The longer the better (for me). Anywhere from shoulder length down to the small of her back is good.

Seriously, ask your best guy or girl and not a general audience...cause you'll get so many different answers here and the best friend may not like what you decide based on their likes.
